Guide / Reading verification results

Verif tools: a check is not the whole decision.

A green mark may mean a file could be read. It does not automatically confirm the person, the source, or the claim.

Verif tools do different jobs. One may tell you whether an image is sharp enough to read. Another may compare a field with a separate record. A third may organize evidence for a reviewer. A result is useful when it tells you which of those jobs was completed.

Suppose a photograph of a form passes a quality check. The result says the form can be inspected. It says nothing by itself about who filled it in or whether the statements on it are true. When the distinction is hidden, people make decisions the tool never supported.

Read the result

Name what passed and what is still open.

File quality

The text is visible and the image is complete enough for review. The contents still need checking.

Source

A known source and a record of how the file was handled can support trust in its history.

Human review

Conflicts, missing context, and decisions that affect a person deserve a path to another look.
